Woodgate - Elizabeth B. (Vollmar) Webster, 92, widow of Richard, passed away on May 16, 2016 at the home of her daughter Christine, where she had resided since 1992. Affectionately known as "Betty," she was born on June 30, 1923 a daughter of George and Elizabeth Johnson Vollmar. She grew up in Port Leyden where she received her education. Betty was united in marriage with Richard E. Webster on July 24, 1938. Following their marriage the couple resided in the Port Leyden area where they raised their family. Mr. Webster a WWII army veteran and retiree of Ethan Allen Furniture Co., Boonville passed away on February 27, 1999. After she raised her children, Betty worked for local food establishments as a cook, first for Becker's Restaurant and Bar, before her longtime employment with Slim's Diner. Betty enjoyed attending Boonville Baptist Church, with her sister-in-law Jessie Vollmar. Betty had a passion for music, and found great joy in the tradition that she has passed on to her children and grandchildren. Many days and nights have been spent together playing bluegrass and country gospel music. She is survived by her children: Richard (Nona) Angleton, TX, Raymond James, Lyons Falls, Eric M., Woodgate, Ruth (Ray) McDougall, Lyons Falls, Janet (Steve) Favret, Cape Vincent, Renita (Richard) Hance, Boonville, Claudette (John) Nellenbach, Hawkinsville, and Christine Martin, Woodgate, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sons Stanley and David, and daughters Karen Clark and Marilyn Wood. In keeping with Betty's wishes all services will be held privately by her family. Interment will be in Port Leyden Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodgate Volunteer Fire Co. and Ambulance 12445 State Route 28, Woodgate, NY 13494.
