Woodgate – Elizabeth Ann Graff, 77, of Capron Road, wife of Donald, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville.
Affectionately known as Betty, she was born on May 18, 1947 in Utica, NY, a daughter of Marshall and Lois Reader Hurn. She grew up in Sauquoit, NY, where she received her education, graduating from Sauquoit Valley High School with the Class of 1965. She completed her education at Mohawk Valley Community College.
Elizabeth was united in marriage with Donald C. Graff on September 14, 1968 in Sauquoit. The couple settled in Chadwicks, where Betty was employed at Marine-Midland Bank in the proof department. Following her husband’s service in the US Navy, they relocated to the Syracuse area where they resided for several years. For a time, Mrs. Graff was the head of bookkeeping for the Slocum-Dixon Medical group, before her longtime employment with PHP Healthcare Systems of Syracuse, from where she retired in 2002.
Together the couple relocated to the family camp on White Lake, which they rebuilt together to be their retirement home. Betty took pride in keeping a nice home for her family and enjoyed cleaning and housekeeping. For four years, she worked as an assistant to her husband in the Town of Forestport assessor’s office. She also enjoyed cruising and boating on White Lake with family and friends.
Besides her loving husband Donald, Betty is survived by her daughter Kim (Rob) Rieth, Woodgate, her granddaughter Lorelai Rieth, and brother Lindsay (Kathie) Hurn, Webster, NY.
Graveside services will be held privately at the convenience of her family in Woodgate Cemetery. There are no calling hours or funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 125 Business Park Drive, Utica, NY 13502 or to the Woodgate Volunteer Fire Dept. 12445 State Route 28, Woodgate, NY 13494.
