Talcottville- Eleanor D. (Genter) Sullivan, 84, a long time resident of Locust Grove and Talcottville, widow of Patrick J, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where she had resided since July, 2012. She was born in Utica, on July 24, 1928, a daughter of Roger and Eunice Eddy Genter. Later she moved from Whitesboro, with her family, to Glass Factory Road, near Holland Patent. Eleanor graduated from Holland Patent High School, with the Class of 1947. On August 23, 1948, Eleanor was united in marriage with Patrick J. Sullivan, at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville. After that the couple settled in Locust Grove, later moving to Rt. 12D in Talcottville. For several years she was employed as a fine furniture assembler at Boonville Division of Ethan Allen Co and was employed as a school bus driver for the Adirondack Central School District, Boonville, for twenty four years, retiring in 2003. For many years Mrs. Sullivan operated a wedding and all occasion cake baking and decorating service at her residence. Mr. Sullivan, a retired logger died on May 22, 1995. Eleanor attended St. Mary's Church, Constableville, and St. Joseph's Church, Boonville. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, making stained glass designs and creating ceramics. She is survived by four daughters and two sons in law, Patricia (Wayne) Robson, Susan (George) Spink, all Boonville, Donna J. Wilson, Utica, Joan Linck and Tim Niznik, Talcottville; three sons and two daughters in law, William Sullivan, Thebes, IL, Richard (Bobbi Lynn) Sullivan and James (Jeannine) Sullivan, all Talcottville. She was predeceased by a daughter Sharon Kessler, on December 30, 2000. Also surviving are 35 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and one brother, Edward (Kathy) Genter, Holland Patent. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard, and by a sister, Catherine Jones. Her family extends a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the entire staff and especially the C-Wing staff for the kind and compassionate care that was accorded Eleanor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, October 26, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. In keeping with her wishes, there are no calling hours.
