Edward R. Fayette, 79, of Woodhull St., husband of Beverley, affectionately known to many in Forestport as the "Score Keeper" passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, while under the care of his loving family and Hospice. Edward was born on June 8, 1933 a son of Henry and Adah Shaw Fayette. Ed grew up and received his education in the Syracuse area. After school he enlisted with the United States Air Force, and served his country during the Korean Conflict Era. He was honorably discharged on January 18, 1956. Following his military service he started his many years of employment in the railroad industry with the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad. Ed retired from the Consolidated Railroad Co. (CONRAIL) in 1992. On March 27, 1978 Ed was united in marriage with Beverley Holt in Syracuse, NY. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Jamesville. In 1987 the couple purchased a summer home in Forestport, which they ultimately retired to in 1992. Ed was an avid camper and fisherman, and enjoyed the outdoors; he also enjoyed playing cards with the Forestport Seniors. Edward was a member of the Remsen Memorial Post #982 of the VFW. Besides his wife Beverley, Edward is survived by one son Raymond Fayette, Syracuse, one step-daughter, Cheri (Liam) Nolan, Fairport, NY, two grandchildren, Sarah and Kevin Fayette, both of Syracuse. Three sisters: Beverly Fayette, West Monroe, Carol Holt, Jamesville, and Kathy (Nick) Pascal, and one brother, Gerald (Chris) Fayette, Homosassa Springs, FL. Ed is also survived by two aunts, Effie Evans, Holland Patent, and Edna Eaton, Rome, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Henry Fayette and sister Arlene Taylor. Keeping with Ed's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and close friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday August 11, at 1 o'clock P.M at the Fayette residence 12201 Woodhull Road, Forestport.
