Boonville- Edward J. Larrivey, 72, of Post Street, husband of Norma, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. A native and life long resident of Boonville, Edward was born on October 26, 1935, a son of Rolan G. and Ida Evans Larrivey. He graduated from Boonville Central School. During his high school years and for a time thereafter, Ed was employed at the Park Market Grocery Store in Boonville. Mr. Larrivey began his employment at Boonville Division of Ethan Furniture Company in 1955. He held many positions at the furniture factory He retired in 1998 after working for several years as Traffic Manager of the factory. Edward was united in marriage with Norma DeVoe on June 30, 1956, at Boonville Methodist Church. Upon graduation from high school, Mr. Larrivey joined the ranks of the Boonville Fire Company. During his long service to the fire company and to his community, he served as Department Chief for nine years. He also served as President of Oneida County Firemens Association, and worked for many years on the County Firemens Convention held each summer. Ed served on the Boonville Village Board, and also was Village Trustee. He was a member of Boonville Elks Lodge, B.P.O.E. #2158, and an associate life member of Charles J. Love Post American Legion, Boonville. In addition to his wife, Norma, he is survived by three daughters, Karen Crolius and her husband, Jeffry, and Kimberley Laskowski and her husband, Stan, all of Boonville, and Katrina Hummel and her husband, John, of Keyser, WV; and one son, Kyle J. Larrivey of Boonville. He was predeceased by a son, Keith, on July 20, 2006. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Stacy Czajka and her husband, Corby, of TX, and James and Michael Brown; and four great-grandchildren, Bradan, Haley, Landon, and Riley Czajka. His Funeral Service will be Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment to follow in Boonville Cemetery. Visitation is Friday 2-4 & 6-8 at the funeral home. Members of the Boonville Fire Co. will call in a group at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boonville Fire Company or to Boonville Fire Company Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 164, Boonville, NY 13309.
