Edward E. Roser

Ava- Edward E. Roser, 89 formerly of the West Ava Road, a native and life resident of Ava and husband of the late Myra "Curly" Roser, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, while surrounded by the loving care of his family. Ed was born at the Roser family home at the Ava General Store, Rt. 26, Ava Corners, on July 13, 1927, a son of Ernest E. and Laura A. Fuhrman Roser. He received his education at Ava rural school, completing his education at West Leyden Central School. At the age of 17, Mr. Roser purchased the former Grems farm on the West Ava Road. On June 28, 1950, Ed was united in marriage with Myra Newey, at Westernville Methodist Church. This was a loving union which endured for 53 years until Myra passed away on October 1, 2003. After their marriage the couple operated the family dairy farm, which they named the "Nev-R-Dun" Farm. Mr. Roser sold his dairy cattle in 1994; thereafter he raised young stock continuing to operate his farm until he entered the nursing home in 2013. Mr. Roser was a member of Ava Hilltop United Methodist Church and, the West Branch Grange. Ed greatly enjoyed riding his motorcycle, snowmobiling, attending dances and in later years going to the casino. Ed greatly loved his wife, Myra and his daughter, son and all of his family. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed his friends; they were all "the wind beneath his wings." He is survived by one daughter and son in law, Pamela J. (Eric L.) Markham, Williamson, NY; one son and daughter in law, Kevin E. (Jodi W.) Roser, Ava; one sister, Irene Roberts, Ava, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Helen Schuller, Francis Owens and Laura Williams and by Evelyn Webster, his special friend of several years. His Funeral will be Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment in Ava Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 5-8 p.m. and Friday 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility resident activities fund, 232 Academy St. Boonville, NY 13309.
