Boonville- Edward Paul Crofoot, 72, of Dorn Spur Road, passed away suddenly at his residence from cardiac illness, on Monday, February 22, 2021. Ed was born in Boonville, on July 20, 1948, a son of Paul Dwayne and Florence Bauer Crofoot. For most of his life he lived in Talcottville and received his education at Boonville Central School. He was first employed for his father in the operation of Paul Crofoot Logging Co. On March 25, 1972, Ed was united in marriage with Lynda S. Rimiller, at St. Mary's Church, Constableville. Thereafter the couple lived on Rt. 12D in Talcottville, until 1979, when the couple moved to Texas where Mr. Crofoot was employed in sewer line construction for Snyder Construction Co and in the same capacity on the east coast of the United States. In 1985, the couple returned to Talcottville, where they lived until moving to their present home on Dorn Spur Road, in 2019. After returning to Talcottville, Mr. Crofoot was employed for LaBarge Bros. Construction, Syracuse in residential gas line construction. His last employment was for Dekathern Inc., Auburn, NY, as Foreman of a natural gas pipeline construction crew. Ed was a natural born mechanic who was talented at repairing and rebuilding all kinds of cars, trucks and heavy equipment. He especially enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing Motorcycle with his wife, Lynda. In addition to his loving wife, Lynda, of nearly 49 years, Ed is survived by two sisters, Clara Kelly, Boonville and Diane (Richard) Pfendler, Woodgate, a sister in law, Karen Crofoot, state of Washington; his children, three sons; Christopher Crofoot, Boonville, CSM Todd (Angela) Crofoot, serving in U.S. Army, at Fort Knox, KY, BJ (Janice) Crofoot, Ava; two daughters, Shannon (Robert) Aliff, Lake Wales, FL and Heather (Brent) Seller, Lyons Falls; grandchildren, William, Kaylyn, Tony, Jenna, Paige, Alexandria and Troy, Kendra, Kaley, Kaitlyn, Karlie, Morgan, Chloe, Maximus, Michael, Brooke, Brandt and great grandchildren, Rory, Sunny, Jace, Wyatt and Ella. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Florence Crofoot; his father in law and mother in law, Arthur and Betty Rimiller; one brother, William, his brothers in law, Timothy Dunn, Terry Rimiller and Martin Kelly. Ed was a kind and compassionate person who was concerned about the welfare of others. In view of his generous spirit, Ed's family allowed organ donation to be performed. His family also wishes to extend a note of sincere appreciation to the staff Boonville Fire Company Ambulance and Rome Hospital, for all of the compassionate care they gave to Ed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation hours on Saturday from 1-4 P.M., at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where face coverings, social distancing and contact tracing will be required.
