Boonville- Edna (Kraeger) Sattler, 97, of Aubrey Ave., widow of Henry J., passed away in the comfort of her reisdence while surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 3, 2011. She was born at the Kraeger family homestead farm near Constableville, on September 30, 1913, a daughter of Anthony J. and Cecelia Duppert Kraeger. Edna grew up on the Kraeger homestead farm, graduating from Constableville High School, and then from Lowville Teachers Training Class. For a time she taught at a rural school near Constableville. On June 22, 1937, Edna was united in marriage with Henry J. Sattler at St. Mary's Rectory in Constableville. In 1939, the couple moved to their home on Aubrey Ave. Mr. Sattler, a long time proprietor of Sattlers Barber Shop on Main St. Boonville, died on October 4, 1997. Mrs. Sattler was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, and a past president of the church Altar & Rosary Society. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother great grandmother and great great grandmother. She greatly enjoyed raising flowers, knitting and creating flora displays that she exhibited at the Boonville Oneida Co. Fair. She is survived by her children, Irv and Joanne Sattler, Boonville, Shirley and Bruce Burritt, Avon, NY, Bruce and Diane Sattler, Johnson City, NY, Jane and Chris Wismer, Easton, PA., Janet and Bill Deis, Herkimer, NY; thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great great grancdhild, one brother and sister in law, Irving and Jo Kraeger, Constableville; and one sister Ruth Margot, Boonville; a sister in law, Renie Kraeger, New Hartford, a special nephew, James Kohane and his wife, Helen, Watertown, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Eva Keohane, Katherine Kraeger, Eleanor Grems, Agnes Kelly, and three brothers, Aubrey, Robert, who died in the Pacific Theater while serving in the US Army during WWII and Harland Kraeger. Her Funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. and at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, both of Boonville, where Rev. Sean Patrick O'Brien, pastor will Celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. Visitation is Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
