Boonville- Douglas W. Hines, 62, of LaChausse Rd, passed away at his residence, after a long illness, on Thursday, September 4, 2014 He was born in Boonville, on April 6, 1952, a son of Sperry and Mary E. Williams Hines. Doug grew up on his family's farm on Rt. 12, between Boonville and Alder Creek; he graduated from Boonville Central School, with the Class of 1970. From then until 1976, he lived in the Remsen area and was employed as a cook at the Marcy Psychiatric Center. In 1976, Mr. Hines entered the US Navy, serving his country while stationed at the Oceana Naval Air Base at Dam Neck, VA, until his honorable discharge in 1981. From 2008 until he returned to Boonville, in 2013, he lived in Frederick MD, and was employed as a technician for Fusion UV Systems, Inc. of Gaithersburg, MD. He had attended Abundant Life Fellowship Church, Boonville. Doug was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing cooking and he was a Buffalo Bills fan. In addition to his mother, Mary E. Maxwell, Oneida, Doug is survived by one son, Steven (Melinda) Hines, Jacksonville, FLA; one daughter Kristine (Karl) Eastman, Sherrill; four grandchildren, twins, Andrew and Aiden Eastman, and Troy and Annabelle Hines; three brothers, Richard (Sharon) Hines, Boonville, David B. (Robin) Hines, Oneida, Dale M. (Trang) Hines, Frederick, MD, and his very close friend, who was like a brother, Timothy (Karen) Earl, Boonville. Doug was predeceased by his father, Sperry Hines, Jr. 1990, and by his stepfather, Raymond D. Maxwell, 2011. His Funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where visitation will be Wednesday 6-8 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will be in Holland Patent Cemetery.
