Douglas Charbonneau, 86, a resident of Charles St. since 1946, the widower of Norma (Sattler) Charbonneau, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where he had resided since March, 2005. Douglas was born in Boonville on June 26, 1921, a son of Louis and Vera Jenks Charbonneau. He grew up on his family's farm known as the Riverside Farm on the Moose River Road. He graduated from Boonville High School with the Class of 1943. From 1943 until he retired in 1981, he was employed for Eastern Rock Products Co. of Boonville, first as a heavy equipment operator, and then for many years as plant superintendent. After his retirement the couple traveled extensively through out the U.S. and Canada. On June 5, 1943, Mr. Charbonneau was united in marriage with Norma S .Sattler, at St. Joseph's Church Rectory in Boonville. Mrs. Charbonneau died on August 21, 2002. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, Young at Heart Senior Citizens, Boonville, and the Constableville Senior Citizens. Mr. Charbonneau is survived by one daughter and son in law: Marlene Barnes and Ray, Wake Forest, NC., two sons and daughters in law: Donald W. Charbonneau and Patricia, Fulton, Duane L. Charbonneau and Lorraine, Mason, Ohio, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother and sister in law: Richard and Karen Charbonneau, Boonville, and one sister in law, Edna Sattler, Boonville. He was predeceased by a brother William. His Funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. and at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, both in Boonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Lawrence Marullo. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours are Friday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Fire Co.
