Boonville - Douglas J. Felshaw, 67, of South Street and formerly of Constableville, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Kindred Hospital in Wilkes Barre, PA. Mr. Felshaw was born in Boonville on June 8, 1943, a son of Donald D. and Grace (Weaver) Felshaw. He was raised in Constableville, and graduated from the High School as Salutatorian of the Class of 1963. Following graduation he was employed as a machinist at the former Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. of Utica. For several years Douglas lived in Rochester, where he was employed as a master machinist at Ilex Co., a firm that manufactured high resolution products for cameras, perfection apertures (a lens- holding device used in the Apollo Space Program), and periscopes used in nuclear submarines. Mr. Felshaw eventually retired as general foreman of the Trimatex Corporation, a parts contracting firm located in Honeoye Falls, NY. Following retirement he lived in Constableville before moving to Kortenaer Village in Boonville. He is a past member of Constableville Fire Department. Doug was an avid NY Yankees baseball fan, and he enjoyed playing golf. He had a keen sense of humor and greatly enjoyed writing poetry. Doug was first married to Wanda Mooney, from whom he was later divorced. He then married Phyliss Carello of Rochester in 1971, who later predeceased him. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Geno Clark of Lyons Falls and Janine and Carl Mooney of Port Leyden; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Arthur Stinebrickner of Constableville; two nephews, Adrian and Brendan Stinebrickner, both of Constableville; and a very special niece, Ingrid Stinebrickner Capron of Saratoga. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, William Miller Felshaw in 1994, and by his parents in 1982. Funeral services are Friday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Constableville, where the Rev'd William Wheeler will officiate. Interment will follow in Constableville Rural Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday 5-9 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
