~~Boonville- Douglas A. DeVoe, 60, of Webster Hill Road, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. At Oneida Health Care Extended Care Facility, Oneida, while surrounded by the loving care of his family. Doug was born in Lowville, on July 4, 1957, a son of Charles Leonard and Netina McIntyre DeVoe. He grew up on his familys dairy farm, on rt. 12D, near Locust Grove and received his education at South Lewis Central School, graduating with the Class of 1975. While in high school, Doug attended Howard G. Sackett B.O.C.E.S. Center, Glenfield, where he majored in auto mechanics. After completing his education, he was employed on his familys dairy farm, before ten years of employment as an auto mechanic for Ron Topa, at Boonville Alignment. Thereafter, for twenty five years Mr. DeVoe was employed as a Line Technician at Kraft Foods, Inc. of Lowville, retiring in December, 2012. Doug lived for and greatly loved his children and grandchildren. He was an avid tractor pulling fan, having been a contestant in many tractor pulls. His favorite tractor pulling personality was Danny Thomas who drove a red International Tractor known as Satisfaction. He also greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, boating and he was a highly skilled intricate wood worker whose specialty was making fine picture frames and wooden figurines. His marriage to Darlene E. Hill, gifted Doug and Darlene with four wonderful children; daughters, Denise C. DeVoe and significant other, Edward Mihalko, Boonville, Jennifer R. (Trevor) St. John, Lee Center and one son, Nicholas (Cassie) DeVoe, Edwardsville, PA. Doug was predeceased by a son, Jeremiah Douglas DeVoe, in 1982. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Alexander, Andrew, Annalise, Jasper, Matthew and Theodore; his parents, Charles Leonard DeVoe, Boonville and Netina Kwasniewski, Boonville; sisters, Christina (Tom) Robinson, Rodman, Kim Strife, Boonville; brothers, Stanley, West Leyden, Scott, and his girlfriend Krista Bartelotte, Town of Watson several nieces and nephews; a special brother in law and best friend since birth, Roger (Donna) Myers, Port Leyden and a special uncle, Theodore McIntyre, II. His Funeral will be Saturday, at 12 Noon at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where visitation hours will be from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral.
