BOONVILLE- Dorothy M. (Harvey) Persons , 83,wife of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017, surrounded by the loving care of her family and Hospice, after a long illness. Dorothy was born April 5, 1933, the daughter of the late Arthur John and Marion Gladys Bennor Harvey of Massena, New York. Dorothy married Franklin B. Persons, Sr. on December 7, 1952; this was a loving union of 64 years and blessed them with seven children. Dorothy was a courier for Bonfare Convenience Stores from 1983 to 1986 and was also a house cleaner for several businesses and private homes in Boonville. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Boonville. Dorothy enjoyed time spent with her two dogs, Toto and Cletus, playing sports, snowmobiling , motorcycling and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her six children: Wayne (Jackie Ball), Rome, Sandra (George) Tourgee, Lakeville, MA, Donna (James) Mitchell, Irvington, KY, Franklin (Daryl), DeeDee (Keith) Gardner, both of Boonville, Rene (Robert) Lamach, Verona, thirteen grandchildren: Bobbie Jo Williamson, George Tourgee, Jr., David Tourgee, Michael Garyantes, II, Raymond Garyantes, Frank Persons, III, Tabatha Wilcox, Amber Persons, Matthew Gardner, MacKenzie Gardner, Michael Gardner, Gabriel Lamach, Gavan Lamach, thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, her sisters Helen Griffin and Cheryl Warren both of Mebane, NC, Beverly Bailey of Olmstedville, NY, three nieces and one nephew. Dorothy was predeceased by a son, Michael Kevin Persons, sisters Kate Bennor and Ann Harvey and brothers Arlington (Chic) and Wayne Harvey. The Family would like to thank the staff of St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Intensive Care Unit and Hospice and Palliative Care for all the care and support that was given to Dorothy and her family. Her funeral will begin Monday, January 30, with a 12:15 pm prayer service at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph's Church of Christ Our Hope Parish, Boonville. Interment this spring will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
