Boonville- Dorothy E. (Gibbs) Nellenbach, 86, a former long time resident of State Rt. 26, West Branch, and more recently a resident of Kortenaer Village of South St. Boonville, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Boonville, after a short illness. Dorothy was the widow of Raymond L. Nellenbach. She was born in Lyons Falls, on April 24, 1925, a daughter of William and Bertha Ingersoll Gibbs. Dorothy received her education at Lyons Falls High School, and while in school she was a room monitor. Before her marriage she was employed at the Port Leyden Knitting Mill. On September 25, 1945, Dorothy was united in marriage with Raymond L. Nellenbach at St. John's Church, Lyons Falls. Later the couple settled in West Branch, where they lived for many years. She was employed at the Lyons Dale Paper Co, Ethan Allen Furniture Co. Boonville, Rome Cable, Kreskey's Five and Ten Cent Store of Rome, the Holiday Inn of Rome, before several years of employment at Oneida Container Co. of Vernon, retiring in 1984. Mr. Nellenbach died on July 4, 2003. Mrs. Nellenbach was a former member of St. Peter's and Paul's Church, Fish Creek, later becoming a member of St. Mary's Nativity Church, West Leyden, later she attended St. Joseph's Church, in Boonville. She enjoyed selling antiques from her residence, Bingo, cards, dancing and playing the harmonica. She greatly enjoyed time spent with her nieces and nephews. Dorothy is survived by a brother in law, Paul Csizsmar, Brantingham, a brother in law, and sister in law, Clayton and Marge Nellenbach, Ava, special nieces who were her care givers: Vicky Windover, of Copenhagen, June Michaels, Boonville and Marjorie Meister, Lowville, and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Eugene, John and Floyd Gibbs; and four sisters, Minnie Nagy, Lillian Gorzalkowski, Pearl Lamb and Eileen Csizsmar. Her funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, and 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Nativity Church, West Leyden, with interment to follow in St. Peter's & Paul's Cemetery, Fish Creek. Calling hours are Monday 2-5 P.M. and Tuesday 4-8 P.M.
