Donna M. Czajka

Boonville- Donna M. (Dewey) Czajka, 71, of Czajka Road, wife of Peter P., passed away at her residence, on Friday, July 19, 2019, while surrounded by her husband and loving family. Donna was born in Utica, on April 16, 1948, a daughter of Donald and Marjorie Williams Dewey. She grew up in Forestport, where she attended Forestport Central School, through 12th grade. On December 7, 1968, Donna was united in marriage with Peter P. Czajka; thereafter the couple made their home on Czajka Road, near Boonville. Donna was employed as a waitress at Slims Restaurant, Boonville and later for over 30 years, she was employed as a waitress at the Buffalo Head Restaurant, Forestport. Donna and Peter were a kind and loving couple and Donna will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor and demeanor of tough love. It was these traits which enabled Donna and Pete to be Mom and Dad, for over 300 Foster Children, over a period of twenty years, under the Foster Care Program in Oneida County. Mrs. Czajka was a member of Boonville Foothills 4-H Saddle Club. She possessed a great affection and love for her feline and canine friends as well as all animals. A stray animal who found its way to Donns home, was indeed, very fortunate! For many years Donna enjoyed horseback riding and she currently found great joy from her horse, Little Junior, and her canine friend, Sarge. In addition to her husband, Peter, Donna is survived by two daughters, Jodi French, East Granby, CT and Lisa Czajka, Boonville; one son, Desmond (Tiffany) Williams, Westernville; four grandchildren, Eden Czajka, Sosie French, Logan French and Ryan French; two sisters, Glenyce (Nick) Ver Schneider, Forestport and Candace (John) Stine, Broken Arrow, OK; three brothers, Ronald (Marla) Dewey, Las Vegas, NV and Donald (Kathy) Dewey, Brandon, FLA, and Kevin (Bunny) Dewey, PA. Her Funeral will be Monday at 4:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. Donald H. Karlen, retired Pastor of Christ Our Hope Catholic Parish, Boonville, will officiate. Calling hours are Monday 2-4 P.M. at the funeral home.
