Donald W. Regetz, a former resident of Highmarket Road in Constableville, and West St. in Boonville, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boonville, after a long illness. He was the husband of Barbara (Harvey) Schweinsberg Regetz. Donald was born in Boonville, on December 1, 1923, a son of William J. and Fannie C. Dean Regetz. He grew up in Boonville, where he graduated from high school with the Class of 1942. After that he was employed in the painting of towers, and for a time he lived in Rome, where he was employed at Rome Mfg. Co. from 1946-1950. From 1947 until 1950, he lived in the hamlet of Coonrod, near Rome. In 1950, Mr. Regetz purchased the Regetz Homestead Farm located on the Highmarket Road near Constableville. This dairy farm was founded by his grandfather, John Regetz, who immigrated to this country from Switzerland. Donald and his family operated this farm until 1982. Donald was married to Ernestine Greene on June 14, 1947, in Rome. The couple later divorced. On May 10, 1975, he was married to Barbara Schweinsberg at the First Baptist Church of Boonville. For twenty three years thereafter the couple lived on the Highmarket Road near Constableville, moving to West St. in Boonville, several years ago. Mr. Regetz was a member of the Boonville United Methodist Church, and a member of Boonville-Uriel Masonic Lodge, F.& A.M, and in years past a memer of Constableville Fire Department. Don greatly enjoyed the gardens and outdoor park at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. In addition to his wife, Barbara of Boonville, he is survived by three daughters: Cynthia Regetz-Aloisio and her husband, Bill, Port Leyden, Mary Ann Koch and her husband, James, Deer River, Patricia Strassner Pittsburg, PA four sons: Donald W. Regetz, Jr., and his wife, Gracia, Lowville, Gerald E. Regetz, and his wife, Vicki, Richmond, VA., John E. Regetz, and his wife, Susan, Michigan City, Indiana. He was predeceased by a son Robert E. Regetz on May 10, 1981. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and one brother; Gerald Regetz, and his wife, Winnie, Boonville, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one step son: Richard A. Schweinsberg, and his wife, Susan, Boonville, four step daughters: Margaret Faulknor, and her husband, Charrles N., Hilton, NY, Barbara Keeler, and husband, Ken, Langhorne, PA., Patricia Wheeler and husband, Duane, Ava, Deborah Bruno, and husband, John, Boonville. His Funeral Service will be on Thursday, June 1, at 1:30 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. William A. Mudge, pastor of the Boonville United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home. Boonville Uriel Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic Service Wednesday at 7:30 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Fire Co. P.O.
