~~Boonville - Denota Mae Deschamps, 59, wife of Samuel, resident of the East Ava Road, passed away in the comfort of her home on June 21, 2017, while under the loving care of her family and Hospice. Denota was born on May 24, 1958 in Syracuse, a daughter of Raymond J. and Dolores T. Harrington Gocklin. She was raised in Pheonix, New York. On May 24, 1975, Denota was united in marriage with Samuel Deschamps in Apopka, Florida. The couple resided in Apopka until 1976. Together the couple raised their children at home and abroad, as Samuel was in the United States Air Force. Their duty stations included McConnell AFB, Witchita, KS; Plattsburgh AFB, Plattsburgh, NY; Griffiss AFB, Rome, NY; Izmir, Turkey for 2 years during the first Gulf War, and Malmstrom AFB, Great Falls, MT. For a time Denota was supervisor of the temporary lodging facility at McConnell AFB. Following their retirement in 1998, the couple returned to the home they built on the East Ava Road, where they have since lived. The highlight of Denotas life was her devotion to raising her children and grandchildren. Besides her husband Samuel, Denota is survived by her children and grandchildren: Mark W. (Kim) Deschamps and their children Valarie and Connor, Ava; Michelle Deschamps and her partner Justin Devoe, and their children Khilee and Corbin; Justin (Morgan) Deschamps and their daughter Isabella, all of Boonville; her siblings: Roberta (Cliff) Hoyt and their son Clifford Jr., Pennellville, NY; William (Pam) Koagel and their children Walker and Sammy, Lee, NY; and Lorraine (Mike) Bales and their children Sara, Wesley and Adam, Franklin, VA. Denota was predeceased by her parents. In keeping with her wishes all services will be held privately. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413 or to American Cancer Society 100 Lomond Court, Utica, New York 13502 for further studies in breast cancer research.
