Boonville-Dennis Patrick Murphy, 56, East Road, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Rome Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Dennis was born in North Carolina on March 26, 1951, a son of the late Frank and Jean Grenier Murphy. A life long resident of Boonville, Dennis graduated from Adirondack High School with the Class of 1969. While in high school, he was a very active member of Future Farmers of America. For eleven years he was employed as a herdsman on the Michael Muha farm, Town of Leyden. In 1979, Mr. Murphy began is long career with Eastern A.I. now known as GENEX/CRI of Ithaca, NY. Over the length of his career, he represented Lewis, Oneida Counties, and he was currently a representative in Madison and Onondaga Counties. During his career Dennis had received several prestigious awards from National Breeders Association. On July 6, 1984, at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, Dennis was united in marriage with the love of his life; Kathleen Boardman. Dennis will be fondly remembered for always having farming in his heart, the great love that he had for his family, and his terrific sense of humor. He possessed a zest for life, was a true people person. For several years, he greatly enjoyed showing cattle at the Boonville Fair, and he enjoyed the out doors and hunting. He is survived by his cherished children, who were the joy of his life; Megan M. Murphy, and Jim M. Murphy, both of Boonville, five sisters and brothers in law; Anita M. and Frank S. Karpinski, Coleen A. Bedore, Therese M. and Kenneth Stabb, all of Boonville, Cathleen C. and David Ward, Constableville, Sue A. Snyder, and James, Boonville, one brother, Timothy F. Murphy, Boonville. A sister, Maureen M. Murphy, died in 1954. Also surviving are nieces and nephews; Brian (Vicky) Karpinski, Jennifer, Nichole Bedore, Jeffrey Kelly, David Murphy, Matthew Ward, Ashley (Jason) Stash, Stacey, Joseph Snyder, great nieces, nephews; Riley, Nicolas, Madison, Isabella, aunts, and uncles; Joseph and Irene Grenier, Boonville, Wilfred and Mary Grenier, Lyons Falls, and several cousins. His family wishes to express a heart felt appreciation to the Rome Memorial Hospital ER Department, the I.C.U., Floor Two North, and to Dr. Nicoletta Tallandini. His Funeral will be on Monday at 9:15 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, and at 10 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, where Rev. Fr. Donald H. Karlen, pastor, will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be later this spring in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours are SATURDAY 1-4 & 6-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
