Whitesboro - Debra (Olney) Dailey, 56, of Clinton Street passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford after a long illness. She was born in Herkimer on November 1, 1953, a daughter of Robert C. and Geraldine A. (Kast) Olney II. Debra grew up in Woodgate and graduated from Town of Webb High School in Old Forge with the Class of 1972. Debra was employed as an operator at General Telephone Company and a cook at the Gaslight Restaurant, both in Boonville. From 1986 until graduation in 1989 she attended Utica School of Commerce, earning an Associate Degree in Accounting. From 1991 until her illness in 2007, Mrs. Dailey was employed as a Funds Transfer Specialist at BNY Mellon Bank in Oriskany. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, bowling at the Boonville Bowl-A-Rama, and bungee jumping. Debra is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jeffrey Badger of Deerfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven R. and Jennifer Dailey of Constableville; her father, Robert C. Olney II and his companion, Dolores Risley of Woodgate; six grandchildren, Samantha, Ashley, Kyle, Marc, Melissa, and Lily; a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Jim Brownell of Inlet; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Debbie Olney of Charleston, SC; her fiancee, Leo Gohn of Whitesboro; former husband, Bruce E. Dailey of Remsen; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Geraldine A. Olney, in 1984, and her brother, Robert C. "Bucky" Olney III in 2007. Her family expresses their special thanks to the staff at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare New Hartford Campus for their special and kind care. The funeral will be Monday at 8:00 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, with interment in the spring in Woodgate Cemetery. Visitation is Monday 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her daughter, Jennifer Badger or her son, Steven Dailey.
