Lowville – Deborah A. Stahl, 47, of River Street, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Albany Medical Center, following a brief illness.
She was born on October 30, 1975 in Rome, a daughter of Thomas W. and Marie A. Typhair McCoy. She grew up in Rome, where she received her education, graduating from Rome Free Academy with the Class of 1995.
One of Deborah’s favorite activities was listening to WBRV – The Moose. She met Karl Stahl, a disk jockey for the station and the couple were united in marriage on May 8, 2004. Together the couple volunteered for Lewis County Search & Rescue, where they worked as dispatchers in the overnight hours. Deborah was also a member of the Lowville VFW ladies Auxiliary.
Deborah was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabers and Boston Red Sox. She was also a NASCAR enthusiast, cheering many years for Dale Earnhardt, Sr. She loved all animals, especially cats and dogs and enjoyed raising dachshunds. She liked collecting cabbage patch dolls and crocheting. Deborah also had a passion for country music that knew no bounds, whether that was listening to WBRV or attending live music events.
She is survived by her husband Karl E. Stahl, Lowville, her parents, Thomas and Marie McCoy, Rome, sister Irene (David) Rudd, and niece Kyra Rudd, all of Boonville. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law.
In keeping with Deborah’s wishes there will be no calling hours. Services will be held privately by her family at Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Lee. Arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
Her family extends heartfelt appreciation to everyone at Lewis County Search and Rescue for all of the wonderful care given to Deborah through the years, and directs all memorial contributions to them at 7782 W. State Street, Lowville, New York 13367. Also a big thank you to B-Train and the current staff at the Moose for all of the joy you brought to Deborah in the most recent years. She listened to you guys every day.
