David was born in Albany, on March 9, 1948, son of Walter and Jean (Pickulski) Kardash. He grew up in Malta and graduated from Shenendehowa High School, Clifton Park, with the Class of 1966. In 1968, Dave entered the U.S. Navy, serving his country on the USS Chilton and was honorably discharged in 1970.

Dave dedicated 38 years of his career to Sears, Roebuck & Co. in Chicago, IL, where he worked as a senior project manager overseeing construction projects across the northeastern United States until his retirement in 2005.
Outside of work, Dave was a passionate outdoorsman whose love for nature and adventure was evident in every aspect of his life. He found great joy in hunting and fishing, always eager to spend time in the wilderness, where he could embrace the tranquility and challenge of the outdoors. Whether it was a quiet morning on the water or a day spent in the woods, these activities brought him immense fulfillment and peace. His hobbies also included downhill skiing, recreational farming and logging, activities he found both fulfilling and grounding. A proud member of the National Rifle Association (N.R.A.) and numerous rod and gun clubs, Dave’s enthusiasm for nature and the outdoors was a central part of his life.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, Dave is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Lance) Barnes, Central Square, and their children, Josie, Brandon and Emily and Rebecca (Joseph) Pisani, Forestport and their children, Salvatore and Isabella.
Dave will be remembered for his dedication, his zest for life, and the deep love he shared with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, adventure, and cherished memories with all who knew him. Now at peace, he is reunited with his faithful canine companion, Zoey, who was by his side through many of life’s moments.
