Herkimer- David Bailey, 47, husband of Melissa, passed away suddenly on Friday, august 16, 2024.
David was born in New Hartford, on July 28, 1977, to Susan M. Hrim. He grew up in the Town of Leyden and received his education in Boonville, graduating from Adirondack Central School, with the Class of 1996. While in high school, he attended BOCES, majoring in Auto Mechanics. After his schooling, he was employed as an auto mechanic for Lee Pontiac and Buick Agency, Boonville, and for other area garages. He was also employed as a tow truck operator.
On February 25, 2006, David was united in marriage with Melissa S. Bowman, at the Boonville Methodist Church.
Survived by his wife Melissa, daughter Emily, step daughter Emily Winn-Sanderson and her husband Zak Sanderson, and his grandchildren Kealan Winn and Lydia Winn-Sanderson who he loved and cherished with all his heart. Mother Susan Hrim, sister Danielle Cardenas, brother Willard Bailey Jr., Grandmother Florence Hrim, and his dog and companion Chewy, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. David shared a special bond with his aunt Margaret Hrim and his cousin Todd Hrim as well as his father in law Richard Bowman III.
David was predeceased by his grandfather Daniel Hrim Jr. and his dog companion Bailey.
David was well known for his ability to fix anything with an engine and it was his passion as well as a new found love of driving a tow truck. He was always there when someone needed a hand getting back on the road.
David spent most of his free time outdoors, especially loved being on the water, spoiling his grandchildren, and traveling with his wife.
His funeral was held privately at the convenience of his family at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville, with interment in Boonville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NYS Chapter) at www.naminys.org.
