Danny W. Higdon, 59, husband of Diane, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at St. Lukeï¿(TM)s Memorial Hospital, New Hartford, after a courageous battle with cancer. Danny was born in Scotia, California, on February 11, 1947, a son of Hymon W. and Doris Yvonne Finley Higdon. He grew up on the West Coast of the U.S., and served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1966, until his honorable discharge in 1970. On September 1, 2000, he was married to Diane R. Angier, in the village square of Holland Patent, NY. After that the couple lived in Floyd, moving to Whitesboro in December, 2004. For twenty years, Mr. Higdon was employed at Canterbury Press of Rome, first as a second press man, and then as an assistant in the maintenance department. Of the Christian faith, Danny was a very spiritual person who loved ministering to people. He was very creative with his art work, and enjoyed spending time ministering Godï¿(TM)s word to the Welcome House of Rome. In addition to his wife, Diane, he is survived by his mother, Doris Y. Sheets, Portland, Oregon, two brothers: Ron and Michael, and by four sisters: Jeannie, Debbie, Reba, and Connie. He was predeceased by his father. Danny is also survived by his adopted mother, "Ma Witek," a sister, "Patty Cakes," both of Westernville, and by four brothers of the heart; Richard Howard, Phil Thron, Dan smith, James Tomaszewski, and all the wonderful friends that he worked with at Canterbury Press. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday from 4-7 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Interment will be in Westernville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road New Hartford, NY 13413.
