West Leyden- Danny Michael Tanner, 67, of Old County Road, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Danny was born in Rome, on August 30, 1953, a son of Malcolm W. Jr. and Marlene Joanis Tanner. He grew up near Ava, received his education at West Leyden Elementary School, before graduating from Adirondack Central School, Boonville, with the Class of 1971. Thereafter, for many years, Danny was self-employed in building construction. Danny greatly enjoyed music and was a self-taught guitar player. He also enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family members. He was a member of the VFW. In addition to his mother, Marlene, of West Leyden, Danny is survived by his brothers and sisters; Charles & Kim, West Leyden, Deborah and Alton Rocker, Texas, Scott, Laurie Secor, Sharon and Joseph Cullings, Brian and Stacy, all of West Leyden, Tracey Tanner, Rome, and Jason, Utica. He was predeceased by his father, Malcolm W. Tanner, Jr., in 2018, and by brothers, Steven, in 1975 and Michael, in 2013. Also surviving is a sister in law, Deborah, his step mother, Shirley Tanner, Rome and a step sister, Pam Kinstle, Rome. Visitation hours are Monday, March 15, from 4-7 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at St. Peter's & Paul's Cemetery, Fish Creek.
