Daniel '"Danny"' Shaw

Daniel "Danny" Shaw, 71, of Thomas Road, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, January 11, 2007. He was the widower of Anna Shaw. He was born on July 1, 1935, at Rockaway Beach, L.I., NY. He grew up on Long Island, in Texas and Alaska. In 1964, he was united in marriage with Anna E. Jones at College Point, LI. His first employment was for a company that manufactured homemade wall paper. After that for thirty years, Mr. Shaw was employed as a union industrial painter at various locations in New York City, one of them being Booth Memorial Hospital in Flushing, Queens. He retired after thirty years as a union painter. For many years the Mr. and Mrs. Shaw vacationed during the summer in the Forestport area while visiting relatives. Mrs. Shaw died in November, 1995, and several years ago he moved to Thomas Road, near Port Leyden, to live near the Joe and Vicki Kraeger family who became Dannyï¿(TM)s adopted family. Mr. Shaw and his wife together greatly enjoyed fishing, and at one time he was Commodore of a yacht club. Mr. Shaw is survived by one brother, Arthur Shaw and his wife, Nancy, Sheboygan, WI., a half brother, Stanley F. Mlodozeniec, Jr. He was predeceased by a brother, Douglas James Shaw in 2003. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Martinï¿(TM)s Catholic Church in Port Leyden, in the spring at a date and time to be announced. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Port Leyden Fire Co. Arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, NY.
