Dana M. Humble, 41, of Irish Settlement Road, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2007, at St. Lukeï¿(TM)s Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. Dana was born in Fulton, on February 23, 1965, a son of the late Raymond A. and Florence A. Dingman Humble. He grew up in Remsen, where he graduated from Remsen Central High School with the Class of 1983. Thereafter he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years, stationed in the United States, Japan, and Okinawa, after that serving the U.S. Marine Reserves for two years. Dana was united in marriage with Melissa M. Mooney on November 2, 1991, at Forestport Presbyterian Church. For the past nineteen years until the present time, Mr. Humble was employed first in employee training, and presently as a business analyst for United Health Care Insurance Co. He greatly enjoyed Karate, and he was involved with the organization of ADK-Shorin-Ryu Karate School of Forestport, where he also designed the web site for the school. He was also a member of Zen-Do-Kai Karate, a national organization of the local karate club. For the passed two years he and his son, Aaron greatly enjoyed the sport of Karate together. One of the greatest joys of his life was fishing trips to his beloved camp at Black Lake with his son Aaron, his father in law, the late Frank Mooney, and their friend, "Poppy" Bob Painter. Dana greatly treasured his time working at home which gave him the opportunity to spend more quality time with his family. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his daughter, Meaghan. Dana took great pride in teaching Meaghan how to enter her name in the computer. In addition to his wife Melissa, Dana is survived by one son, Aaron J. Humble, age 8, one daughter, Meaghan P. Humble, age 5, one sister and brother in law; Amy J. and Robert Smith, Boonville, and brother and sister in law; Darren and Tara Humble, Remsen, his mother and step father in law; Kathy-Mooney Schmelzle, and husband, Smokey, brother in law Shane Mooney, and wife, Cheryl, his step family; David and Kim Thorne and their daughter, Shelby, all of Forestport, and several nieces and nephews. Danaï¿(TM)s family wishes to express their sincere, heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the doctors and staff at St. Lukeï¿(TM)s Hospital, ER and I.C.U., especially remembering Dr. Arastu, Neurologist, for his extreme compassion and kindness, and going the extra mile for us. Funeral service is Friday at 9:00 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home. Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Fr. Donald H. Karlen at 10:00 at St. Patrickï¿(TM)s Church, Forestport. Interment will be in St. Patrickï¿(TM)s Cemetery, Forestport. Calling hours are Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
