~~Remsen- Dan R. Austin, 54, of Joslyn Road, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica. Dan was born in Little Falls, on June 28, 1963, a son of Frank James and Rosette Peet Austin, Jr. He grew up on Joslyn Road, and received his education at Remsen Central School. Thereafter Dan was employed on his familys dairy farm and at Atkins Farm, Barneveld, before his longtime and current employment at Caruso Cattle Co. and as Foreman at J.C. Rendering Co., both of Frankfort. In 1987, he was married to Susan Gillett; later the couple were divorced, in 2000, he was married to Lisa M. Jordan and later they were divorced. Mr. Austin had attended the Methodist Church. Dan was a jack of all trades, who devoted his life to his family and to lending a helping hand to anyone. He is survived by nine daughters and Nicole and Charles Kraeger, Port Leyden, Amanda Austin and fiance, Joshua Smith, Port Leyden, Kayla Jordan, Boonville, Elizabeth and Paul Hrim, Boonville, Jennifer and Michael Dailey, Turin, Brittany Moreland, Port Leyden, Stacey, Emily and Janna Austin, all of Boonville, also 20 and counting grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Frank, in 1994, a grandson, Ethan Vosburgh, and an aunt Margaret Farquhar and a brother in law, Stacy Jordan. Also surviving are his sisters; Teresa Jordan and fiance Don Lowell, Remsen, Marie and Ron Burr, Holland Patent, Shirley and Dave Stevens, Remsen, Mary and Chris Merry, Boonville; brothers, David and Theresa Austin, Boonville, Joseph and Samantha Austin, Deerfield and Scott Austin, Moriah, NY, his mother, Rosette Peet, Remsen, and his step mother, Dorothy Richter, Remsen and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and their spouses. Visitation hours will be Thursday 2-4 & 5-7 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, followed by a sharing of memories service at 7:00 P.M. Interment arrangements will be private. Dan was never a person to say good bye. A familiar phrase of Dans to his beloved family and many friends was Im out of here, 1,2,3.
