~~Boonville- Dalton D. Dorrity, 22, of Carol Ave, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017, after enjoying the sunrise for one last time from Blue Mountain, in the Adirondacks. Dalton was born in New Hartford, on December 5, 1994, a son of Douglas M. Dorrity and Amy Samson. He grew up in Boonville, where he received his education graduating from Adirondack High School, with the Class of 2013. Thereafter he furthered his education attending M.V.C.C., Utica. For several years Dalton was employed at the Muffin Patch Restaurant, Old Forge, followed by employment as a clerk at Aubuchon Hardware Store, Boonville, Capri Pizzeria; at the present time Dalton was employed as a laborer for Jim Simpson Contracting Co. of Stittville. While in high school, Dalton greatly enjoyed and excelled in playing his favorite sport; soccer, participating on the junior varsity and varsity soccer teams. He also enjoyed baseball and was a member of the modified, junior varsity and varsity baseball teams. In his elementary school years he participated on the Holland Patent AYSO team. In the same era, Dalton played on the Kiwanis Little League team, which was coached by his dad; later he played Babe Ruth Baseball, again coached by his dad. While in high school, he also enjoyed informal games of airsoft. After he graduated from high school, he enjoyed participating in recreational flag football, soccer and playing on summer soft ball teams. During the winter Dalton enjoyed snowboarding. Recently he began to teach himself how to play the guitar and he greatly enjoyed dancing. While in elementary school, Dalton went on a field trip to climb Bald Mountain. That early expedition kindled his love of the out of doors and hiking in the Adirondack Mountain region. At the present time, Dalton was an aspiring Adirondack 46er. In addition to his parents, Douglas M. Dorrity and Amy Samson, Boonville, Dalton is survived by his younger but taller brother, Maxwell, a fact that Max found great pleasure reminding Dalton of; his grandmothers, Gail Frank, Holland Patent, and Diana Millick, Boonville; aunts and uncles, Shannon and John Gavin and cousin, John, Janine and Taras Kowalewsky and cousins Kaitlyn and Noah Roberts, Colleen Dorrity, cousin Delaney Dorrity, uncle, Greg Dorrity and cousin, Taylor and his wife, Mackenzie and their daughter, Mariah and his beloved canine friend, Baloo, who was always ready to play ball at any time. Dalton possessed an affinity for forming many, many close friendships; he was the life of the party and the sunshine of the crowd he was a part of. His motto was Live Free. Daltons family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to members of the Old Forge Fire Department, Otter Lake Fire Department, State Police and all of assisted and displayed compassion at the accident scene on Rt. 28, where Dalton passed away. Your kindness will be forever comforting to this family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Ward on Thursday, May 25, at 12 Noon at Christ Our Hope Parish, St. Josephs Church, Charles St. Boonville. Calling hours are Wednesday 1-6 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, and on Thursday from 9-11 A.M, at the funeral home.
