Constableville - Cynthia Ann (Felshaw) Moxley passed away from a long illness on October 28, 2024, with her loving husband, Stanley (Dean) by her side.
Cindy was born in Constableville, New York on October 13, 1951. She grew up in Highmarket and attended Constableville School, graduating from South Lewis Central School in 1969. On September 26, 1970, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Stanley Dean Moxley.
After marriage, Stan entered the Army and for the next 22 years, they raised three daughters while travelling to various military bases throughout the United States and abroad. During these years, Cindy was an active volunteer at many of these installations. She was a dedicated and beloved childcare provider at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where the army filmed their child daycare training video in her home!
In 1992, they retired from the military and moved to Boonville. For several years after, Cindy was a Family Advocate for the HeadStart Program. In 1998, Cindy and Dean moved to their current home in Constableville. The couple drove over the road for G and I Homes for many years transporting manufactured houses from Indiana and Pennsylvania to New York. They were always accompanied by their faithful canine companions, Winston and then Rudy.
Cindy was predeceased by her 2 youngest daughters, Erin Marie Moxley and Colleen Elizabeth (Moxley) Rogers, as well as her sister, Sandra Roberts and nephew, Ethan Felshaw. She is survived by her husband, Stanley Moxley, daughter, Wendy Moxley and siblings, Robert Felshaw (Jaqueline Carpenter), Kevin Felshaw (Chryl), Patricia Platt (Frank), Annette Szablewski (Phil) and adored grandchildren Jennavieve Allen, Owen McPhilmy and Samual McPhilmy, also many, many nieces and nephews.
Cindy’s kind smile and generous, giving nature will be forever missed. The family sends the most grateful and loving thanks to the amazing staff at Lewis County Hospice whose dedication, professionalism and devotion to their patients is truly inspirational and has been the greatest source of comfort to Cindy and her family.
Cindy’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, Constableville, with Rev. Daniel Chapin officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Constableville, followed by a continued celebration of Cindy’s life at the Constableville Fire Dept. where donations of food may be dropped off Friday morning. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P.O. Box #266, Lowville, New York 13367.
