Cornelia N. Warren

Boonville - Cornelia (Newell) Warren, 94, a longtime resident of James Street, passed away on Sunday April 18, 2010 at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, after a long illness. She was born in Utica on September 3, 1915, a daughter of Walter J. and Mabel (Carney) Newell. She received her education at Utica Catholic Academy. Cornelia was united in marriage with Bert E. Warren in Remsen on December 15, 1932, moving to their home on James Street in 1937. For many years, Mrs. Warren was employed as a bookkeeper for many at Warren's Mobil Gas and Auto Mechanic Garage, formerly located on Post Street in Boonville. Mr. Warren died on August 19, 1975. Cornelia was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Boonville. She greatly enjoyed raising flowers and gardening. Her greatest love in her life was for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Marvel Denslow of Boonville and Linda Parker of Prospect; eleven grandchildren, Cynthia Denslow-Eggleston, her faithful and loving caregiver for the past two years, Mark and Jeffrey Denslow, Colleen Poppe, Christy Bondy, Matthew and Michael Bauer, Katrina Gotthard, Robert, David and James Parker; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister, Sister Mary Joan Newell, C.S.J. of St. Joseph's Provincial House in Latham; and a special niece, Nora Karlen Smith of Boonville. She was predeceased by an infant son, Richard, and a beloved daughter, Shelia Bauer, on October 26, 1979; two brothers, Carney Newell in 1945 and Donald Newell in 1990; and by a sister, Mary Joan Karlen in 1975. A prayer service will be conducted Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, followed by a Mass Of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, where the Rev'd Sean Patrick O'Brien will officiate. Interment will follow in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Fire Co.
