Cora N. Nemo

Point Rock - Cora N. (Beckley) Nemo, 84, of Point Rock Road passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 while under the care of her loving family and Hospice. A native of the town of Lee, Cora was born on April 30, 1925 to Charles and Hazel (Finster) Beckley. She received her education in the town and graduated from high school. During the 1960's she was employed as a food processor at the Olney & Floyd Canning Factory in Lee Center. Cora enjoyed playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles. On November 3, 1945 she was united in marriage with Frank "Sam" Nemo in Lee Center. Mr. Nemo, a WWII veteran and a retiree of Revere Copper & Brass, died on March 22, 1988. Cora is survived by six daughters, Linda McRae and her husband, Walter of Winter Spring, FL, Rose Millard and husband, Paul of Waverly, NY, Brenda Nemo and Dennis Marcoccia of New York Mills, Nancy Nemo O'Leary, at home, April Dolan and her husband, David, Sr. of Lee Center, and Cora Joy Nemo Wilkes, at home; two sons, Allen Nemo and his wife, Linda of Camden, and Wayne Nemo of Annsville; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Martha Pritchard of Ava. She was predeceased by two sons, Frank in 1969 and James B. in 1975, two brothers, Jesse and Johnny, and by a sister, Mildred Zalepeski. Her funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Nunn & Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 North George Street, Rome, where the Reverend Debra Wollaber, pastor of Lee Center and Point Rock United Methodist Churches will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in the town of Lee. Calling hours are Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
