Boonville- Connie M. Pohoreskey, 85, widow of Michael, longtime resident of Egypt Road, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Katherine Lutheran Home, Clinton, where she has resided since 2008. Connie was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on January 28, 1930, a daughter of Juan and Maria Fuarez Morales. Her younger years were spent in San Juan, before moving to New York City with her family at the age of 8, where she completed her education. Following her education she met her husband, Michael Pohoreskey. The couple married on June 26, 1952 in Manhattan. Following Michael's military career the couple settled on Egypt Road in Boonville. Mr. Pohoreskey, a US Army veteran of WWII, passed away on March 31, 2008. Connie was employed for the Adirondack Central School System, retiring after 30 years of service. She was a loving and beautiful mother caring for her children. She enjoyed reading, and playing cards, and the time spent with her family. She is survived by her four sons, Michael Pohoreskey, Jr., Georgia, Alexander (Wendy) Pohoreskey, Virginia, Nelson (Debbie) Pohoreskey, Whitesboro, Elliott (Michelle) Pohoreskey, Boonville; two daughters, Connie Hoover and Joseph, Baldwinsville, Patricia (Timothy) Alm, Boonville; nine grandchildren: Nicholas, Michelle, Jessica, Brittany, Samuel, Nathaniel, Aleeah, Nancy, and Lydia, and three great-grandchildren. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her three brothers and sister. Her family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the exceptional care given to Connie by all of the staff of the Bryant Unit of Katherine Lutheran Home, Clinton. Services will be held privately at the family's convenience. There are no calling hours. Interment will take place in Alder Creek Cemetery. Her arrangements are in care of the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, New York 13204.
