Lyons Falls - Colleen M. Flansburg, 71, of Gorham St., widow of James E., passed away at home on Thursday, June 4, 2015, while under the loving care of her family and Lewis County Hospice. Colleen was born on March 17, 1944 a daughter of William and Ellen Sutton Reese. Her younger years were spent in McKeever before moving with her family to Boonville. She was educated at Boonville Central School. Following her marriage to Stanley J. Grabowski, Jr., the couple settled in Steuben where they raised their family, later the couple was divorced. Colleen worked at A.M. F., Lowville, and Lolly Manufacturing Co., Port Leyden, and for a time she was employed as a CNA at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville. Most recently Colleen was employed by the CNY DDSO as a developmental Aide at the port Leyden ICF. On August 8, 1980, Colleen was united in marriage with James Edward Flansburg in Port Leyden. Following their marriage the couple settled in Lyons Falls. Mr. Flansburg, a retired log skidder operator for D & J Flansburg Logging Co. of Constableville passed away on June 15, 2005. Colleen is survived by her children: Sonja Downing, Lyons Falls, and Timothy Grabowski and his fianc Karen Wert, Port Leyden; her stepchildren: Scott Flansburg and Lisa Austin, Port Leyden, Russell ( Julie) Flansburg, James E. Flansburg, III, and Judy (Russ) Howard, all of Queensbury, and Marie E. Flansburg, Florida, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; her siblings David (Marcia) Reese, Talcottville, and June Dymon, Las Vegas, NV. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her son Stanley Joseph Grabowski in 1966, and her siblings William Reese, Shirley Sloma and Patricia Reese. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours will Friday 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P.O. Box #266, Lowville, New York 13367.
