Cody Mckinley Seymour

August 27, 1993 — May 20, 2017

~~Boonville- Cody McKinley Seymour, 23, of LaChausse Road, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 20, 2017, shortly after greatly enjoying a night of Adirondack Mountain hiking with friends and watching the sunrise from Blue Mountain. Cody was born in Oswego, on August 27, 1993, a son of Kevin M. and Kathy Marie Williams Seymour. He received his education at Adirondack Central School, Boonville, and Our Lady of Lourdes School, Utica, graduating from Proctor High School, Utica, with the Class of 2011. Thereafter, Cody continued his education at M.V.C.C., Utica, where he studied civil engineering. Cody possessed a great interest in civil engineering and building construction and while a student at Proctor High School, Cody enrolled in a high school youth construction initiative program in an internship with the NYS DOT Bridge Crew. During this period, Cody displayed his interest in civil engineering and his ability to accept a challenge and devote himself to work diligently and concentrate on a task at hand. This was a three week internship, however, due to Codys interest, hard work and eagerness to learn, the DOT, encouraged and allowed Cody to continue his work with the bridge crew until the end of November. While attending MVCC, Cody decided that in the classroom education was not to his liking and he began his employment as a Mason Tender, with Laborers Local 35, of Wallingford, CT., which included several construction sites in New York; Blue Mountain Lake Museum, Lowville High School and currently at SUNY IT, Utica. From a very young age, Cody expressed a great love of nature, the outdoors and hiking. At the present time he was striving to become an Adirondack 46er. Cody is survived by his mother, Kathy (Thomas) Lisowski, Boonville; his father, Kevin (Dawn) Seymour, Atlanta, GA; grandfather, Paul Seymour, Oswego, one brother, Mitchell Redner, and nephew, James Mitchell Redner; one sister, Dora Redner, all of Boonville. Also surviving are step brothers: Christopher (Stacy) Lisowski, Thomas (Michelle) Lisowski, David Williams; a step sister, Katie Linder and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by grandparents, Henry and Monica Williams and Nellie Seymour. Codys family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to members of the Old Forge Fire Department, Otter Lake Fire Department, State Police and all who assisted and displayed compassion at the accident scene on Rt. 28, where Cody passed away. Your kindness will be forever comforting to his family. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-6 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where a celebration of his life and memories thereof will begin at 6:00 P.M.
