Dr. Clyde Corr, DVM, of 50 Town Court, Palm Coast Fl., passed away on August 30, 2013. He was born on September 6, 1924 in Lee Center, N.Y. to Ethel and William Corr and was a real country boy. Clyde was raised on a farm and locally educated. He proudly became a Marine and served his country during WWII in the Pacific, earning 2 purple hearts. Clyde returned from WWII to Rome and met the love of his life, Marilyn Audrey Seymour. They were married on November 1, 1947 and remained a loyal and loving couple until Marilyn passed on August 7, 2003. Clyde gave Marilyn as his reason to better himself and she was his helpmate in completing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Cornell University. He later established the Rome Veterinary Hospital, a practice serving both large and small animals. He was an avid pilot and outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Clyde was also a wood working craftsman and an oil painter. He was a jack of all trades, master of many, and enjoyed golfing with Marilyn. Clyde was a 32nd degree Mason, in Baron Steubon Lodge, and recently reaffirmed his faith through baptism at Riverbend Church in Ormond Beach, FL. Clyde is survived by his four children, Deborah Zorn and husband Ted of Ormond Beach, FL, Bradley Corr and wife Judy of Mission Viejo, CA, Kathleen Schneider and husband Kevin of Glenwood Springs, CO, and Randall Corr of Long Beach, CA; seven grandchildren, Keith Zorn and wife Denise of Woodinville, WA, Alicia Bassey and husband Alex, of Cropseyville, NY, Shane and Brett Ishmael, of CO and Bradley II, Nathan and Brian Corr and wife Ashley of CA; four great-grandchildren, Alex and Isabella Bassey and Autumn and Sonia Zorn; a brother, Ed Corr of Rome, NY; a brother-in-law, Larry Wishart of Fayetteville, NY; and sister-in-laws, Nancy Corr, Rome, NY and Sylvia Corr of Hiram, OH. A memorial service is planned for November 3rd at 1 p.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Booneville, NY. The family is honoring Clyde's request to join their remains together and spread half in Forestport and the other half will be interred at the Saratoga National Cemetery, on November 4th at 11 a.m. Together again... ever-loving! In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to a local Animal Humane Society or VITAS Hospice of Ormond Beach.
