Clayton G. Weiler

Constableville- Clayton G. Weiler, 84, of Fish Creek Rd., husband of Eleanor, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 28, 2011, at his residence. A native and life long resident of the Fish Creek Rd, he was born at the Weiler Homestead farm on February 17, 1927, a son of George and Pearl Marie Kaido Weiler. He attended country schools. In May, 1945, Mr. Weiler entered the U.S. Army serving his country during WW II, state side as a truck driver. He was honorably discharged in 1946; relisting that year, serving state side in the Military Police, until his honorable discharge on March 5, 1947, as Private First Class, at Ft. Dix, NJ. After that Clayton was employed for twenty seven years as a log truck driver at the Still Saw Mill and Lumber Co. of Ava, retiring in 1983. On October 14, 1950, Clayton was united in marriage with Eleanor Snyder, at St. Mary's Church, Constableville. Mr. Weiler was a member of St. Mary's Church, Constableville. He was mechanically inclined and greatly enjoyed repairing automobile motors and other mechanical devices. In addition to his wife, Eleanor, he is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Linda and Paul Dailey and Sarah Weiler, all of Constableville, three grandchildren, Craig and wife Amy Dailey, Brian Dailey and Justin Weiler, two great grandchildren, Lucas Dailey and Jenna Dailey, all Constableville; four brothers, Norbert (Beverly) Weiler, Boonville, Robert Weiler, Locust Grove, Ted Weiler, Port Leyden and George (Shirley) Weiler, West Leyden; two sisters, Adeline Croniser, Boonville and Pearl Waldron, Lowville. He was predeceased by four brothers, Leslie, Ambrose, Thomas, Alvin, and by one sister, Louella Brinkerhoff. A prayer will be Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, and at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Church, Constableville, where Rev. Lawrence Marullo, pastor will celebrate a Mass Of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Constableville. Calling hours are Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
