Boonville, New York

Boonville- Cheryl L. Allen, 60, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville surrounded by her loving family at her side. 


 She was born in New Hartford, on November 28, 1964 the daughter of Herbert J. and Mary E. Daly Race. Cheryl grew up in Whitesboro, where she graduated from Whitesboro High School, with the Class of 1982. Thereafter she furthered her education studying accounting at M.V.C.C. Utica. 


 For many years, Cheryl was employed as a bar manager at many establishments in the Utica area and also at Scooter’s in Forestport and at bars in Old Forge. Several years ago she relocated to Boonville, where she had since resided and was employed at Otis Technology, Lyons Falls, Family Dollar, Rome and in the deli, at Tops Market, Boonville. 


 Cheryl enjoyed a lifetime hobby of collecting elephants. She will be best remembered as a person who loved being at the center of a good time, sitting with friends and family around a campfire at 4th Lake and Sugar River, while visiting, telling stories and recalling humorous times. 


 Cheryl greatly treasured her family; she is survived by her twin sons, Dylan R. Allen, (Jessica Sardina, fiancé), Whitesboro, Dakota J. Allen (Brittney Anderson, fiancé), Whitesboro; her boyfriend of 20 years, Max Becker, Boonville; one brother, Kevin J.(Cindy) Race, Whitesboro; two sisters, Corinne Barcomb, North Utica, Renee Mitsler, Whitesboro; nieces and nephews, Shane, Jared, Jordyn, Andrew, Shannon and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Mary Race. Also surviving are friends, Dr. Mark Babiarz, Jen Kratzenburg, Karen Smith and Nikki Podkowka and other friends at The Pub in Boonville. 


 In keeping with Cheryl’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services at this time. A celebration of her life will be held at her family’s discretion. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101, or to Stevens Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio Street, Utica, NY 13502. Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, NY.
