Charlotte E. Meeker

Port Leyden - Charlotte E. Meeker, 62, of East Main Street, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville. She was born in Rome on March 5, 1948, a daughter of Harry W. and Nina V. (Denslow) Meeker. She grew near Boonville, on Echo Lake Road, and received her education at Boonville Central School. For many years she lived on Depot Street in Remsen, and was employed as a custodian at the Remsen Town Hall. Miss Meeker moved to Port Leyden in 2002. Charlotte is survived by one daughter, Lindsey R. Meeker of Port Leyden, and two grandsons, Branden and Lucas. Her life revolved around her grandsons, especially Branden, who is two. Also surviving is a sister, Shirley Finster of Port Leyden. Charlotte was predeceased by two sisters, Audrey Redner and Laverene Lusby, and two brothers, Donald and Douglas. Her funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, with interment in Boonville Cemetery. Visitation is Monday, 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Port Leyden Fire Co. Ambulance Fund.
