Boonville- Cecelia (Cece) Helen Maichak, 89, of Boonville, went to be with the Lord, on March 17, 2019, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville. Cece was born in Boonville, on May 19, 1929, to Walter and Veronica (Godek) Maichak. She grew up in Boonville graduating from Boonville Central School. For many years, until her retirement, Cece was employed at Griffiss AFB, Rome. Later in life she married her lifelong companion, Ralph DAvolio, on April 30, 2011. Mr. DAvolio, a Marine Veteran of WWII, passed away on December 10, 2015. Ralph and Cece enjoyed life together, including golf, bowling and the outdoors. Cece was a member of St. Josephs Church, Boonville. She is survived by her brother and sister in law; Thomas, who served in the Navy in WWII and during the Korean Conflict and his wife, Ann Maichak, Springfield, VA and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also has relatives in Poland. Besides her parents, Cece was predeceased by three brothers, Benjamin, who served in the Marines in WW II, Mitchell, who served in the Navy in WWII and Joseph, who served in the Marines, in WW II and during the Korean Conflict. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Josephs Church, Boonville, where Rev. Thomas A. Ward, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Rome. Calling hours are Wednesday, May 15, from 9:00 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Josephs Church Memorial Fund, at Christ Our Hope Parish, 108 Charles St. Boonville, NY 13309.
