~~Boonville- Carol H. Ingersoll, 95, widow of Frederick, and a former longtime resident of Church St., more recently of Post St. passed away on Saturday November 11, 2017, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where she had resided since March, 2016. Carol was born on June 12, 1922, the Hines family homestead farm, on the Hines Road, Town of Leyden, a daughter of Bertie W. and Minnie Birdsey Hines. She received her education at a rural school, before graduating from Boonville Central School. For several years, Carol was employed as a sales clerk at Hills Department Store, Boonville, and as a cashier, at Victory Markets, Boonville. On August 31, 1940, Carol was united in marriage with Frederick C. Ingersoll, at the Presbyterian Church Manse, Boonville. This was a blessed and loving union which endured for 63 years until Mr. Ingersoll, a retired auto mechanic at Lee Pontiac and Buick, Boonville, passed away on November 21, 2003. For most of her life, Carol was a home maker; she found great joy in providing for her husband, and children. Carol found great joy from her faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ, and she showed that faith through her very active service and membership of the Boonville United Methodist Church. She participated in the kitchen for public church dinners, the many Walk to Emmaus Dinners, at the church food stand at the Boonville Oneida County Fair; she was an active participant in many summer and winter vacation Bible schools, and serving breakfast to the Sunday school children. Mrs. Ingersoll was a longtime member of the United Methodist Women and for many years she greatly enjoyed participating in the annual church fall bazaar and acting as chairperson of the church Intentional Caring Committee. Apart from her church and family, Carol and Fred were avid snowmobilers and they also summertime camping in the Adirondack Mountain region, especially at Nicks Lake. She is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Sally I. (David) Jackson, Boonville, and Sandra I. (Henry) Boshart, North Syracuse; five grandchildren, Andrew (Christy) Jackson, Clifton Park and their children, Adam and Ryan Jackson, Eric (Julie) Jackson-Forsberg, Brooklyn, and their son, Simon, Gregory Boshart, Baldwinsville, and his family, Brenden, Kylie and Jacob Boshart, Catherine Asselborn, Powder Springs, Georgia, and her family, Abigail, William and Elizabeth and John (Jennifer) Boshart, Hopewell Jct, NY and their family, Henry, Charles and Amelia. Carol was the last of her family of six brothers and sisters; Harry and William Hines and Doris, Ruth, Anna Grace and Hazel. Her Funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at Boonville United Methodist Church, Main St., with interment to follow in Boonville Cemetery.
