Tampa Fla. / Boonville- Carol A. Chambers, 68, a former resident of Erwin St. and Valley View Drive, in Boonville, widow of Charles W., passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at Florida Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Carol was born in Potsdam, on December 25, 1943, a daughter of Elwood and Helen Fitzgerald Prashaw. She grew up in Massena, where she graduated from high school, and later from CCBI, of Syracuse. She was employed as a secretary at Boonville Division of Ethan Allen Furniture Co., and at Georgia Pacific Paper Co. Lyons Falls, before her employment as a secretary for seventeen years at Up- State Cerebral Palsy Center, in Barneveld. On June 22, 1968, Carol was united in marriage with Charles W. Chambers at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Massena. After their marriage the couple lived in the Syracuse area and Oneida, before moving to Boonville, in 1975, where Mr. Chambers was employed as manager of Boonville Branch of Community Bank. He died October 3, 1997. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Boonville. Carol greatly loved her children and grandchildren. She is survived by three sons and daughters in law, Charles and Mary Jane, Kevin and Gina, all of Boonville, Mark, Tampa, Fla; four grandchildren, Gavin, Grace, Makayla, and Sean, all Boonville; one brother, Robert Prashaw, Evansville, Ind., brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews, and special friends; Joanne Georgopulos, Tampa, Fla, Conor Roberts, Lakeland, Fla., Dave and Joyce Payne, and Gloria Stocklosa, all of Boonville, and Dawn Hoffman, of Remsen. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, with Rev. Sean Patrick O'Brien, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. Visitation will be Sunday 1-5 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Charles W. Chambers Scholarship Fund, C/O Adirondack Central School Business Office, 110 Ford St. Boonville, NY 13309.
