Carlton J. 'Carl' Weaver

Town of Western - Carlton J. "Carl" Weaver, 63, of Sage Rd, husband of Anna, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 28, 2011, at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, on December 15, 1947, a son of Leland and Josephine (Ohm) Weaver. He grew up at the Weaver homestead farm on Buck Hill, and received his education at Adirondack Central School, Boonville. He was first employed in the operation of the family dairy farm; later for many years he was employed with excavation businesses, and also as a logger with his nephew Scott Weaver. He retired from logging in 2006 due to an injury. Carl was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved to be in the outdoors. His greatest joy was time he spent with Ian, "the boy", whether it was tracking a deer or planting potatoes. He took a great interest in the college careers of his nieces, Chelsae, who is studying conservation at ESF, Syracuse, and Laine, who is studying biology at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the S.A.L. at Western Memorial Post 1846. On August 7, 2010, Carlton was united in marriage with Anna M. Radell, at the Woods Valley Ski Area, in Westernville. In addition to his wife, Anna, he is survived by his nephew, Ian Radell of Camden; nieces Laine Radell and Chelsae Radell; a sister, Marie Worden of Remsen; his nephew, Scott Weaver of Boonville; his mother-in-law, Wilhelmina Radell of Westervnille; two brothers-in-law, Michael Radell and Joan of Clark Summit, PA, and Daniel Radell and Jackie of Pulaski; a sister-in-law, Patty Radell of Camden; many other nieces and nephews; his buddies at "Coffee Club"; and his constant canine companions, Shadow and Blue. He was predeceased by his parents, and siblings, Alton, Everett, Violet, Ivan, Doris, Shirley, and James. His funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St., Boonville. Visitation is Thursday 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
