Locust Grove- Bruce A. Weiler, 63, of State Rt. 12D, passed away suddenly at his residence on Sunday, March 5, 2017. He was born in Constableville, on April 30, 1953, a son of the late Robert W. and Betty Dean Weiler. Bruce grew up in Locust Grove and received his education in Port Leyden and Lyons Falls schools, graduating from South Lewis Senior High School, with the Class of 1972. Later he furthered his education by attending a trade school. From 1972, until his honorable discharge in 1975, Mr. Weiler served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in the United States, Philippines and in Okinawa. Later he was employed as a paper maker for 16 years at Georgia Pacific Paper Co. Lyons Falls. More recently Bruce was employed in computer work in Buffalo and North Carolina. He was a member of St. Martin's Church, Port Leyden. While in high school he enjoyed participating on the Football and Wrestling teams. Later Bruce enjoyed working on automobile engines and helping his son with home improvements. He also enjoyed the outdoors. Bruce is survived by one son and daughter in law, Adrian N. (Amy) Weiler, and their children, Robert, Mia, Emma and Olivia, all of Boonville; one sister and brother in law, Katrina (Larry) Beltowski, Locust Grove, and two nephews, David and Kevin. He was predeceased by his mother in 1992, and by his father, in 2013. A prayer service will be Saturday at 9:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St., Boonville, and at 10:00 A.M. at St. Martin's Church, Port Leyden, where Rev. Lawrence Marullo, pastor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial; afterwards there will be a luncheon. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Town of Leyden.
