Bruce A. Rieben

February 21, 1948 — March 31, 2019

Boonville- Bruce A. Rieben, 71, of Main St. husband of Helen, passed away suddenly, on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Bruce was born in Rome, on February 21, 1948, a son of Fredrick C. and Lorena Wright Rieben. He grew up in Camden, where he graduated from Camden High School, with the Class of 1967, before furthering his education attending SUNY Morrisville. After that for 32 years Mr. Rieben was employed as a developmental aide, first at Rome Developmental Center, and later for many years at the Post St. CNY DSO Facility, Boonville. After his retirement he was employed as a greeter at the Rome Walmart, before returning to employment at CNY DSO, on a per diem basis for several years. He was married to Donna Mae Davis; that marriage ended in divorce. On April 12, 1996, Bruce was united in marriage with Helen R. Smith, at the Boonville United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Ava Hilltop United Methodist Church and greatly enjoyed fishing in the Mad River, near Camden, wood working and furniture refinishing and traveling on bus trips throughout the United States. In addition to his wife, Helen, Bruce is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Matt) Morgan and Rebecca Rieben, all of Rome; two grandchildren, Cassidy and Emily Morgan; a great grandson, Carter King and two sisters, Donna (Jim) Tanner, Florida, and JoAnne (Harold) Boyce, SC. He was predeceased by a brother, Fred Rieben. His Funeral will be Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Pastor Daniel Richter of the Ava Hilltop United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be later this spring in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Fire Department Ambulance Fund P.O.
