~~Alder Creek - Brian D. Mason, 63, of State Route 12, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 in the comfort of his home. Brian was born on October 4, 1954 in Utica, a son of Robert E. and Gloria Haggas Mason. He grew up in the Forestport and Boonville area and was a graduate of Adirondack Central School with the Class of 1974. Upon graduating Brian entered the US Army serving stateside and in Germany until he was honorably discharged in 1985. He was a helicopter avionics expert and used his talents after his military service as well, as he was employed for a time with Dyn-Corp working in helicopter aviation in Peru and throughout South America. He then returned to the North Country and has since been employed with UTAS Corp., an aircraft component manufacturing company in Rome. Brain was a motorcycle enthusiast and very much enjoyed his Harley Davidsons. He is survived by a son Jack (Brandi) Mason, Midland, Michigan, a daughter Kelly (Chris) Gaynor, Albany, several grandchildren; a brother John E. (Ann) Mason, Forestport, a sister Carol Mason (Mike), Edgewater, FL, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Robert and Gary. In keeping with Brians wishes there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite #300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
