Beverly A. Mcmanus

June 18, 1931 — June 7, 2006

Beverly A. (Ritchie) McManus, 74, of Belle Isle Place, the widow of Francis T., passed away on at the home of her daughter and son in law; Thelma and Thomas Williams, in Carthage, on Wednesday June 7, 2006. She was born in Ogdensburg, on June 18, 1931, a daughter of Roland and Margaret Jackson Ritchie. Beverly grew up in Gouverneur, where she graduated from Gouverneur High School with the Class of 1950. On February 18, 1961, Beverly was united in marriage with Francis T. McManus the Gouverneur Presbyterian Church. Mr. McManus was a cost accountant, and after their marriage the couple lived in Brownville, Minoa, and Endicott, before moving to Boonville in 1990. Mr. McManus died on May 26, 1994. Mrs. McManus greatly enjoyed working on all kinds of crafts, including, painting, dried flower arrangements, and many varieties of knitting. For over thirty years she traveled the craft fair circuit throughout a large portion of New York State. For fourteen years Beverly volunteered, and then became employed in the activities department of Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boonville, retiring in August, 2005, due to illness. Her survivors include: four daughters and sons in law; Thelma and Thomas Williams, Carthage, Gerri and Lynn Harrison, Binghamton, Pamela and Peter Watkins, Endicott, Cindi and Jeffrey Holtzman, Tucson AZ., one son and daughter in law; Daniel and Robin McManus, Dayton, OH., grandchildren; Daniel Wagner, (grandson,) Philadelphia, PA., Alisha and Alysen Williams, (granddaughters,) Carthage, Michael Harrison, (grandson,) Binghamton, Ryan, Chelsi, Tyler, Cade, and Carson, (Grandchildren,) Dayton, OH., Steven, Roseanna, and Adam Holtzman, (grandchildren,) Tucson, AZ., Victoria Watkins, (granddaughter,) Endicott, NY, one brother and sister in law; Robert and Constance Ritchie, Gouverneur, and three nieces. A graveside service for Mrs. McManus will be on Saturday at 11:00 am, at Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur, with Pastor Darlene Jensen of New Covenant Fellowship Church, Carthage, officiating. Calling hours will be Friday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 pm., with a prayer service at 7 pm at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St., Boonville. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Resident Activities Fund, 232 Academy St., Boonville, NY 13309.
