Bertrum L. Loucks, Jr., 76, of Loucks Rd., passed away on Monday, June 18, 2007, at the home of his daughter, Kelly Hunkins, in Old Forge. Mr. Loucks was born in Utica, on August 6, 1930, a son of Bertrum L. and Beatrice Richard Loucks, Sr. He grew up in Utica, where he was educated at Proctor High School. He was first employed in delivery for Pepsi Cola Co. of Utica, and then for 43 years he was employed in the gear cutting department of Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. of Utica, retiring as supervisor of the department. He also operated Crown Carpet Rental Co. of Utica. In 1967 he and his family moved to their present home near Foresport. Bertrum was united in marriage with Joan D. Arnst on August 30, 1952, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Utica. Mrs. Loucks died on October 8, 2004. He greatly loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and spending time with his family. He also greatly enjoyed woodworking making furniture and crafts. Mr. Loucks is survived by three sons and two daughters in law; Brian and Pat Loucks, Kinderhook, Jeffrey and Renee Loucks, Three Rivers MI., Fred Loucks, Forestport, five daughters and four sons in law; Debra and Terrance Regan, Hertford, NC., Sandra and Mark Joslin, Forestport, Robin and Charles Irla, Frankfort, Rebecca Loucks and companion Frank Mekeel, Forestport, Kelly and Michael Hunkins, Old Forge, twenty three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, one brother in law, Earl Allen, Bridgewater, and close friends; Ann Labella, Utica, John and Annabel Crowell, Steuben, Gary and Sharon Aubel, Forestport. He is also survived by his many close friends on Loucks Rd. in Foresport. His family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Betty Hasenauer, who faithfully had served as a care giver for Mr. Loucks. His funeral service will be Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. Lawrence Bartel, pastor of Niccolls Memorial Church of Old Forge will officiate. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Town of Kirkland.
