Rome - Bertha (Ernst) Dulak, 91, a native of West Leyden, and a former resident of Upper Floyd Avenue and Barile's Trailer Park, passed away on Friday, October 31, at Stonehedge Nursing Home, where she had resided since 2002. For a total for twenty-eight years Mrs. Dulak was employed at the Rome Daily Sentinel, first as staff photographer, and for the last ten years of her employment as a member of the Advertising Department. She retired in 1979. On April 23, 1966, Bertha was united in marriage with John Dulak at the Dutch Reformed Church of West Leyden. Mr. Dulak died on July 29, 1982. Her survivors include a sister-in-law, Mrs. Hannah Ernst, West Leyden, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Sinia Streiff in 1983, and Verena Kent in 1998; and a brother, Wallace C. Ernst, in 2007. Her Funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, with interment in West Leyden Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Leyden Reformed Church.
