Forestport-Belle E. (Agley) Kilb, age 105, a longtime resident of East River Street, widow of Alexander, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville.
A native and life long resident of Forestport, Belle was born on April 15, 1919, a daughter of Charles and Florence Wood Agley. She attended Forestport Central School, and for many years she was employed as a domestic for several families in the Forestport area.
On September 18, 1940, Belle was united in marriage with Alexander Edward Kilb at the Rectory of Trinity Episcopal Church, Boonville. After that the couple settled on Woodhull St. in Forestport, moving to their home on East River St. over sixty years ago. For many years the couple was employed as caretakers at the Honnedaga League Club at Honnedaga Lake in the Town of Ohio, and also at the Gilbert Butler Estate near Forestport. Mr. Kilb passed away on April 2, 2007.
Mrs. Kilb was a member of the former Christ Episcopal Church, Forestport, and she had attended Trinity Episcopal Church, Boonville.
She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Kilb was predeceased by two sisters, Bessie Keyes, and Edith Blair and one brother, Milton Agley.
Her Funeral Service will be on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 12 Noon at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. Dr. Naomi Kelly, from Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church, Old Forge, will officiate. Interment will follow in Beechwood Cemetery, Forestport. Calling hours are also Saturday, 10:00 A.M. until the funeral at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Belle’s memory to Beechwood Cemetery, P.O. Box 2, Forestport, NY 13338.
