Boonville-Mrs. Beatrice "Betty" Williams Searl, widow of Emerson, a former resident of Millers Woods Road near Hawkinsville, and more recently a resident of Thornton Ave., passed away on Monday, April 14, 2008, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Utica. She was born in the Town of Trenton on February 28, 1924, a daughter of J. Harry and Eva Hart Williams. Betty grew up in East Steuben on French Road where she attended French Road Rural School. She completed her education at Remsen Central School, graduating with the Class of 1943. Mrs. Searl was employed at the Rome Air Depot during WWII, and during the Korean Conflict, she was recalled for employment at Griffiss Air Force Base, Rome, working there until retiring in 1965. On May 2, 1947, Betty was united in marriage with Emerson J. Searl at the Manse of the Boonville Presbyterian Church. For over fifty years the couple lived on the Millers Woods Road, moving to their present home in Boonville, in 2002. Mr. Searl, a long time manager of C. Hughes Hardware of Boonville, passed away on October 11, 2007. Mrs. Searl is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Glenn Williams, and by a sister, Marjorie Perry. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral at 1:00 P.M. on Friday at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Interment will follow in Boonville Cemetery.
